I’m Micina, your four-pawed explorer 🐾.
Today, I’m here to tell you a story filled with the scent of hydrangeas and… new friendships.

Yesterday, in the late afternoon 🌅, when the air finally cooled down after a hot, sunny day ☀️, Joy 🐶, my humans 🚶‍🚶 and I went out for our usual neighborhood walk 🏡.

As always, we greeted our lovely neighbors 👋, who by now feel more like friends 🥰: there are those who smile at us from the gate, those who call us by name, and those who are always ready with a scratch behind the ears. It’s our little daily ritual.

When we reached Axel’s house 🐶 – he’s a super friendly dog and a great friend of Joy – we stopped for a while. Axel and Joy had lots of things to tell each other 💬, wagging their tails and jumping around 🐕🐕 while the humans shared a chat.

It was right at that moment, while the hydrangeas 🌸 cast beautiful shadows along the path, that we heard a soft little meow 🎶.
“Meow?” 🐱
A shy meow, almost hidden 🔍.

Davide bent down to keep Axel still (he was ready to explore every corner of the garden), while Axel’s humans walked over to the hydrangea bush 🌿.

🌿 What are Hydrangeas?

Hydrangeas 🌸 are beloved ornamental shrubs, often seen in gardens and parks. They produce large, fluffy, pom-pom-like flowers in a wide range of colors: from pink 💗 to blue 💙, white 🤍 to lilac 💜. Romantic, elegant, and generous… just like the most beautiful stories 📖.

And right there, at the base of one of those lush hydrangea bushes 🌿, under a trembling leaf 🍃, there he was: a tiny kitten 🐱.

He didn’t look scared… rather, he seemed shy 🙈, as if he was saying: “Can I stay here with you? I could really use a little place of my own…” 🏠

“Oh no…” 😟 I whispered with my heart tightening 💔. At that moment, I thought, “poor little one… all alone. Let’s check if his mom is around. If not, we’ll have to wait a bit ⏳ and find him a family.”
We were just ready to take care of him temporarily, when suddenly Axel’s humans lit up with excitement ✨.
“We’ve actually been thinking for a while about finding a friend for Axel” 🐶, they said, “and we had thought exactly about a kitten. 🐱 Incredible!” 😮

Davide laughed with joy 😄 and said a sentence that has now become a saying in our house:
“The famous kitten distribution system strikes again!” 🐾✨

🐾 What is the Kitten Distribution System?

The famous Kitten Distribution System 🐾 is a playful – yet surprisingly accurate – theory 😸 that says: humans don’t really choose kittens… we kittens find them 🔮. Kittens appear at the right place, at the right time 🗺️, as if they know exactly where they belong. It’s a little feline mystery… but it always works! ✨

I immediately felt relieved 😊: Axel’s humans had that excited look on their faces 🥰, eyes sparkling with love 💖 and wonder ✨. They quickly brought the little one some fresh water 💧 and a bit of kitten food 🍽️.

Then they told us a curious thing 🤔: Axel usually spends sunny days ☀️ in the back yard, where it’s cooler and shady 🌳.
But that day, he had been in the front yard all day long.
And only when Axel came to greet us, the kitten started meowing. Maybe he knew it was the perfect time to be found.

Axel was over the moon 🎉: he was bouncing with joy 🐶🎈, running back and forth 🚀 like an excited puppy.
He clearly wanted to show they were meant to be best friends. 🤗
And I knew… it was destiny ✨.

The next day, we got the sweetest confirmation 💌: Axel’s human sent us three videos 🎥.

In one video, you could see the little kitten trying to clean himself, and Axel gently offering a paw to help, with heart-melting sweetness.

Then, in the second video, Axel was gently licking the kitten, almost as if to say: “Don’t worry, I’m here with you now.

As you can see, in the last video, we see the Kitten happily playing on his cushion after taking the probiotics recommended by the vet.

All’s well that ends well. 🎉

We still don’t know what name they’ll choose for the new arrival 🐱, but one thing is certain: he has found a wonderful family 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 and a big brother for life 🐾💗.

Update! 🐾
It looks like we might have found the first name ideas for the kitten! 😸
The first one is Burro, because he’s as soft and white as butter 🧈.
The second is Onigiri, inspired by the cute Japanese rice balls 🍙 — his fur is white like rice, and his little spots look just like the seaweed! 😻
